I was wondering what some of the top companies to hire mechanical engineers are. What companies are the most appealing to MechEs? I know it differs from person to person but what are the jobs that are top notch and hard to get?

Boeing and the defense aerospace companies are pretty sought after in the same way Google and Facebook are for CS.

Disney?

Well, what do you know. They actually say in the Disney listings that PE license is preferred. Maybe son will stop arguing with me about the need for taking the FE this fall.

Pretty much any job with a big company, especially a government subcontractor with a security clearance, is the golden carrot. Security clearance is almost job security in some sectors.

Interesting, Montegut!

Parker, you would be surprised at how accessible web sites are for colleges. At U Maryland, they have corporate sponsors for electrical engineering (I know not mechanical, but as an example). You can take a look at some of the engineering programs you are interested in and then see what corporations are recruiting there.
