I’m going to be a junior this year and I already know I want to go into engineering for college, but don’t have the discipline quite narrowed down yet. I have a 4.2 GPA and scored a 1280/1520 on the PSAT (haven’t taken the real SAT yet). I have always had an interest cars, and my dream job would be working for an automotive company. I will most likely attend college somewhere in Indiana as that is where I live. Just wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages of each field, which pays the best, and which you think I would enjoy the most. Thanks!
If you are interested in cars, that usually mean Mech Eng. Most schools have a SAE FORMULA CAR team that you can join. Like this one https://www.evansville.edu/majors/mechanicalengineering/baja.cfm
1280/1520?
he PSAT is divided into two sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading & Writing. Because there is no penalty for guessing, a student’s raw score for both of the main test areas is the number of questions answered correctly. Raw scores are then converted to scaled scores ranging between 160 and 760 (760 is the highest possible score for each section). The raw scores are added together for the total PSAT score, or Selection Index, which ranges between 320 and 1520.
Too early to decide. Cars are involved in all 3 fields: ME, EE, and CS. Modern cars are using more computer software.
There will be smart cars like smart phones.
