Mechanical engineering at UBC or Purdue?

I am just trying to decide whether to go to UBC or Purdue for mechanical engineering undergraduate study. Can anyone tell me more about mechanical engineeringe course at UBC? And if possible the comparison between the two universities and also the cities

Thanks

I appled to UBC for engineering. I wanted to apply to Purdue too but I decided that I will be better off in Canada. If you are very concerned about your studies and opportunities, then choose Purdue. If you want a mix of a very nice lifestyle and good education, then choose UBC. Btw, a degree from Purdue will be very helpful if you want to work in US, whose economy, even though in decline, is a lot better than Canada’s. UBC Vancouver is better than UBC Okanagan. Vancouver is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but the job market isn’t very mature there. If I were you, I would go to Purdue.

So daredevili is a little off on the whole economy thing. Canada’s economy is still booming, and if you’re willing to work there, you’re pretty much guaranteed a six-figure job up north right after graduation (assuming you did co-op, you’d be a fool not to).

Mech Eng has a great program, it’s ridiculously hard but gets easier after second year, it’s one of UBC’s better majors.
