Mechanical Engineering at UTD?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to get some more information about the ME department at UTD, so I thought of starting a new thread. I know ME is ABET accredited at UTD, but I wanted to get some feedback from people who are in the department now and from people who graduated. I live in Dallas, about 40 mins away from UTD.

I currently go to Northlake community college and will be transferring this upcoming fall semester. So far, I got accepted to Texas Tech for ME, but it is too far away and I rather go somewhere closer.

It would be great if I could get some advice.

I don’t know alot about mechanical engineering but they are building a new facility for it. I think it is suppose to be completed in another year and half. I have seen the machine shop where the senior projects are made - it a space for all engineer disciplines and CS. Many companies sponsor these senior projects. I don’t know much beyond that - you could try posting on reddit for more info.
