<p>math of 30 and English of 20 sounds like the typical engineer to me. Now, I went to Missouri S&T when it had a population of 7000, and I lived in KC 4 hours away. So I really can’t relate to this kid’s aversion to size or distance. But I can tell you that plenty of people who actually graduated from engineering programs knew that was the direction they were going to go from a very early age. Like 12 or 5! Now the folks who get weeded out may not fit the personality pattern, but it sounds like this kid has it figured out and will do well no matter where he goes.</p>
