Mechanical Engineering top 10 grad schools

Would someone give me some opinions on how high of a gpa I should have as an undergrad student to get into a top 10 ME grad school. I'm currently a freshman at Colorado State University. I didn't do too well in my opinion my freshman year and only got a 3.4 GPA. I'm planning on getting more involved and looking for internships starting my sophomore year. Also, I got into georgia tech, cornell, and carnegie, but I didn't get any scholarships so I didn't think it would've been worth it to spend 150,000-200,000 for my undergrad degree. I kind of regret that decision now though because getting into those prestigious schools don't matter anymore.
