Mechanical Engineering U of T vs UBC

So I want to either attend the University of British Columbia or the University of Toronto. At this point I believe that I know a lot about both universities and will be applying to both in about a month. I am favoring UBC since it has a better campus (I’ve been to both) and actually gives you a campus vibe. Some of my friends will also be attending UBC and I have a better chance at a scholarship. However, academically, University of Toronto has the edge especially in Mechanical Engineering. My question is: is the academic gap really that big when it comes to engineering or will I be better off at UBC? If you have any other suggestions or even comments feel free to write them down for both uni’s since this is a very important decision for me.

Thank you

Also I was talking about UBC- vancouver not okanagan

.

U of T has an excellent campus and vibe.

UBC does have a weather advantage. UBC and U of T are generally rated close together. Although U of T has a slightly better reputation, I would choose UBC if you prefer to go there for other reasons.

Have a look at the University of Waterloo as well. Many students choose UW over both U of T and UBC. Their co-op system is excellent.
