Mechanical Engineering?

So I have been interested in the MechE program at my school. I figured MechE is so versatile and broad it encompasses my many interests, i.e. alternative and renewable energy, oil industry, cars... and I take it if I wanted to I could go into finance?(most companies like engineers right?)

But I really didn't like engineering statics all that much(I assume this will be a problem?) It just felt too much like civil with all the structure analysis, beams, bending moments, etc.

And I feel that I don't have that sense of intuition or hands on skills that people have in my classes. Some people can always point of how a beam will bend or how the moment will be out of intuition, whereas I find I struggle with that, and I feel this handicaps me from doing any engineering. Is that true?

Lots of engineers don’t have that kind of intuition when they start but learn it through hard work. Don’t worry so much about it. Focus on your ultimate goal and put in the work necessary to develop the intuition.
