<p>Does it matter if people took the SAT with a #2 mechanical pencil?</p>
<p>Why does College board prohibit this? Is it because they think people would slip </p>
<p>in papers and cheat? I know It won't affect the score, but it is kind </p>

<p>Judging from what I’ve seen and heard, that’s the primary reason. I’ve never tried it, but I would imagine that it would be pretty difficult to extract something from a regular mechanical pencil without being too conspicuous. But there are those pencils that have those internally rolled up sheets that you can pull out from the side so maybe those are the ones that they’re worried about.</p>
<p>I always use Mechanical Pencils. No one’s ever told me not to.</p>
