Mechanical Pencils on AP Test???

I know that CB specifically states that mechanical pencils are not allowed on the AP, yet I've used them last year while testing. I was just wondering how strictly they enforce that rule; I'm probably bringing some wooden pencils as backups just in case.

Also, are you required to write in pen only for the FRQs or is there an exception for science and math exams? For calculus, I feel really uncomfortable with writing my answers in pen.

The test will prob say if you need to use a pen. Just bring a pen, just in case.

Mechanical pencils are not allowed, so bring wooden pencils.

You can answer the FRQ in calculus with a #2 pencil. For mechanical pencils, the question is how strictly the proctor enforces the rule. Bring wooden pencils and a pen to be safe.

That sounds fairly reasonable, thanks :)
