I’m a 3rd yeard MechE student. I just registered for Mechanics as part of my tech electives, mainly as a placeholder for another class that I have to hear back about, but I also love physics so I’m thinking of just sticking with this.
Being that I’ve gone through Physics I, Statics, Dynamics and Fluid Mechanics (all classes with anything related to mechanics), am I overqualified for this class? I figured if I was that they would stop my from registering for it (which they do would easily do), but they didn’t. I looked at the syllabus and it looks consistent with what is taught in Physics I. I figure it has to be a more in-depth view of these topics, otherwise why would they offer it among a limited list of tech electives for a MechE major who clearly knows this stuff already. Any thoughts?
