MechE + Economics Minor

I am pretty much set on becoming a Mechanical Engineer (entering my sophomore year now) but I really enjoyed the microeconomics class I took this year. Now I am considering pursuing an economics minor.

Would it be worth the extra effort to pursue an economics minor? Would it be hard to balance with the MechE course load? Would this make me more attractive to potential employers?

Go for it. Economics is not too rigorous so in my opinion it wouldn't be difficult to manage the coruseload. Potential employers like to see business experience so this would make you attractive to employers.

HEY MCS5280 what school do you go to. It would seem a little weird that your doing this combo at a big school. But it doesn't make a difference.

I recommend it--I personally find economics very interesting. Plus there is that whole spiel about how "engineers need to have a better understanding of the world around them," blah blah blah. Plus if you are interested in pursuing a career in a non-engineering field such as banking, consulting, management, etc, it might come in handy somewhere down the line. I'm an EE in a business minor and haven't found the 'extra' courses difficult at all.
