med school/major concerns

I am trying to go to either NYU or UCLA Med School and I am going to be a undergrad freshman at UCLA in the fall...

I was wondering..will my chances into getting into those 2 med school be different if I choose to be a history major versus a science major?

I would take all the pre med pre-reqs on top of my history requirments

and what would your tips be for building my resume for med school(specifically nyu/ucla)

I know getting into med school is very difficult..but any advice would be really appreciated..thanks :)

have no life.

You need to have more med schools on your list. 2 isn’t nearly enough.

I do…those are just the two that i am REALLLY interested in.

Being a history major will not affect your chances…that being said 2 is a very small number. You should have more schools in mind than 2 I understand that those are your top schools but those are the top schools of many other applicants too, so it will be very competitive. Just focus on keeping your GPA high (around 3.7+) and you need to have a good MCAT score (about 33+). You should also have ec’s like shadowing and volunteering and research

Here is another caveat, you will be in competition with people like myself, so I hope you are prepared ;)
