first off i know there are probably a ton of topics and threads already open on this, but i was wondering if any of you had some answers for me!

i'm going to be a junior in high school in the fall. i'm doing a program in my district called middle college, in which instead of attending a traditional high school, i attend college and fulfill my high school requirements by taking college classes at a community college. (ex: i need one more year of math to graduate, so i'm taking a finite course which can also count towards college credit)

if i take chemistry, statistics, physics, bio etc at community college, will they count towards my pre-med requirements? the thing is i will still be in high school when i take thesend i know that it depends on the school and the student. but overall, do you think many grad schools will accept the credit? i don't want to take these courses if i just have to repeat them, thanks!

Yes, they will count, but it isnt a good idea to take them there unless you plan on taking higher level chem, bio, physics, etc, classes at a university. Med schools dont like seeing prereqs from CCs unless higher level classes are taken later at a univ.

besides, if you take them too early, you will forget too much when you take the MCAT.

what will your major be?

take all the other gen ed courses at the CC

alright thanks! that’s what i assumed. if i were to take these courses, i’d take them my senior year and continue to take higher level courses my freshman year and on in college. i’m either looking at majoring in political science or something in a humanities field. do you think i should take mostly undergrad general ed requirements while in middle college that way i can take more science classes in college?

yes…take all the gen ed and lower division on Poly Sci classes now.

What is the difference of teaching application, concerning math, between C.C. and 4-year?

not exactly sure, i am taking finite this upcoming semester and was going to take stats in spring but im thinking maybe i should hold off. i do know we are required to attend so many math labs which is like tutoring and help
