Does the volunteer work you did in high school (and other ECs) is considered by med schools?

Not if you don't continue them into college. Basically, med schools only consider what you do in college.

Does the volunteering in the summer after senior year (HS) and before college counts for medical school admission?

Anyone here?? Any advices are welcome!

Does the answer to that question influence whether or not you volunteer?

Well, it shouldn't but it does because I have to take summer school.
And if that summer is not essential, I will take perhaps BCIS, PE... in summer school to graduate from high school (my schedule is horrible!!).

Of course, in such a dreadful situation, I will volunteer later more intensively.
Altruism sometimes cannot change problematic high school transcripts. And I absolutely need to graduate from high school. This to me is a priority not to be compromised.

If it´s not to be compromised, then why ask?

Because, in this case, I would drop my AP classes (very regretfully) to take PE and BCIS, and be able to volunteer during summer (only if it is crucial, not if I can find an alternative to volunteer later without affecting my chances at med school).

It's not crucial.

so the close to 500 hours my D volunteered during her 9th thru 11th grade high school years won't count? She should "re-do" these now?

High school experiences are not eligible for official listing on a medical school application.

so then could it be more of a "discussion" at interview time?

Sure. She can fit it into her personal statement or interview answers if she wants. She just can't list any of the HS stuff as a EC on her primary.

Understood.
Thx!
