I've read a couple of the other threads debating whether or not it is beneficial and advantageous for med school applicants to take a non science major, and now I'm starting to think, well, does it matter what kind of major it is? Surely some majors are more difficult and challenging than others, depending on natural ability, but what are the general views for certain subjects that are not science related? Is Music considered a difficult Major? Theater an easy Major? More or less difficult than Philosophy? I am very interested in Asian Studies, but I have no idea if the general consensus considers it an "easy" major. I don't want to risk looking "weak" to med school if I choose to major in Asian Studies along with the pre med cirriculum, and I can easily do without. What are you thoughts on the major? How could it benefit me?

Major doesn't matter. The ratios of matriculant's majors are nearly identical to the ratio of applicant's majors. (ie 53.4% of applicants are Bio, 53.2% of matriculants are bio - these are hypothetical numbers by the by).

Take whatever major you want.
