Im entering sophomore year. I am determined to go to Med school.
What classes should I take junior/senior year
What out of school activities should I be involved in?
What do I major in in college?
How do I prepare myself for college?
The most important thing is to take the most rigorous classes you can in all subjects. To get into med school, you first have to get into college and that is what adcomms want to see.
Really anything to show you have an intrest in the field. Some popular activities…,
- volunteer for a hospital
- help with biology research
- shadow a doctor
You can be pre-med in anything. Your major doesn’t matter. That being said it is sometimes easier if you are biology or chemistry because the prerequisite required for entrance into medical school will overlap with your major requirements. When it comes down to it though, do what intrests you!
That’s a pretty broad question, but the basis of it is take the hardest classes, study and do well on the SAT/ACT, and of course do well in your classes!
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! ![]()
Thank you Madeline25! I will contact you for further questions!
@2018suh Let me just add that I recommend getting a solid grasp of Bio and especially Chem and Physics in high school. If you don’t take physics or chem, it will be much harder when you take it for the first time in college (and you will need to – it’s tested on the MCATs).
