I see that there aren't many threads on this forum so I thought I'd start a thread on something that interests me. I'm a high school student right now so bear with me :).

Which top medical schools through the AMCAS app have the Early Decision Program where you apply early to a medical school and you don't apply anywhere else, or however it is executed...

I am not referring to Early decision into a college (I know that you have to get your bachelors before applying ;) ), but rather early decision into a medical school when applying to med schools while in college.

There’s a few that do this, but it’s a really bad idea. Medical school applications are extremely time sensitive. Applying ED prevents you from applying, even via regular admission, anywhere else. Therefore, it severely sabotages your chances of getting into medical school generally.

I understand, I was just curious for a list (I’m not actually applying early decision or anything, at least not anytime soon seeing as I’ve still got college :P)

I must disagree. Since an early decision applicant is informed of an admission decision by Oct. 1 of their Junior year, the applicant loses nothing if he/she is not accepted. They simply enter the normal admissions process at that point and are in no way behind. This option is a good one if you know where you want to go and you kick ass with your grades as a Freshman and Sophomore.

? You receive a decision by October 1st of your senior year, which puts you MASSIVELY behind.
