Med vs. Pharmacy

I'm very interested in the sciences and wish to pursue an occupation in that field. As a result, I narrowed my major choices down to medicine and pharmacy (looked at engineering problem sets, not for me). I've been looking into accelerated medical programs and, based on my stats, wanted to know where I might have a chance? I've no idea what field I want to specialize in medicine, but if I major in pharmacy, I definitely want to do research and not retail. Any information on recommended pharmacy programs or route (2 years getting core credits, no degree, then applying to a pharmacy school elsewhere; or doing a 6-7 year PharmD program at an offering school). Thank you!

ACT: 33 One Sitting (33 English, 33 Math, 36 Reading, 30 Science; 9 Essay - 31 Writing Composite)

SAT II's: Chemistry (770) Physics (750), just took Math II (looked at raw scores, scored between 750 and 800)

GPA: 3.5 Unweighted, 4.2 Weighted (5.3 Scale, didn't do well at all frosh/soph years - accelerated/unweighted classes)

Percentile: Top 25%

AP: Chemistry (4), English Lang (5)

Senior Sched: AP Government and Politics, AP Statistics, AP Literature and Composition, AP Calculus AB, AP US History II, AP Biology, Forensics Chemistry Honors

What state are you in?

You’re right on target for the Rutgers 0-6 PharmD, though.

Located in NJ, my bad

I wonder what’s the equivalent of 700/700 on the ACT, since the BS/MD accelerated at Rutgers requires a 700/700 in one sitting (CR+Math) to get in.

Equivalent of a 700 on the SAT would be a 31.5, but idk if they weigh difficulty of each test (ACT easier in my opinion)

Even so, both the Rutgers 0-6 PharmD and the accelerated Rutgers BS/MD are high matches in your situation.

university of miami, Penn state and i believe northeastern has a good one. Also South Alabama has a great accelerated med program. Look into all these
