I am senior in high school now, but i am going to DePauw in the fall. Right now i think i want to go pre-med, but i am planning on just going to college and seeing what interest me and what i wanna do. When i applied to depauw i wasn't interested, but i am starting to think i might want to do the Media Fellows program. Does anyone know if i could enter into it after i have enrolled at depauw?

Yes, you can! When you get to DePauw, see if you feel like you still want to do it, and talk to the guy in charge of it. He’s really nice, and he will let you apply second semester of your freshman year (so you won’t start until sophomore year but you still catch up!). There is no way to apply now, but when you get to DePauw decide if you really want to do it and then go for it! It’s a great program!

The requirements for lateral admission are:
- 3.2 cumulative GPA
- Involvement in media activities on campus
- An essay describing the problems facing media today and why you want to go into it

Congratulations on deciding on DePauw! It’s a great school and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Thanks, i’m so excited for the fall. thats good to know that i can still do it. i’m not really sure though how interested i am in some of the media activities though since i havent had any opportunity to get involved in media activities, but i guess i’ll find out when i get to college.

The great thing about media at DePauw is that anyone can get involved with it. So, try out one (or two!) activities and see what you like! Our newspaper is widely read (and I’m not just saying that because I’m on the staff!), and the radio station is ranked nationally. We also have a great TV station. Yes, a lot of the members are Media Fellows but there are quite a few who are not and still are very dedicated!!
