media studies 10 as junior?

how difficult is it to get into MS 10 as a junior? due to scheduling conflicts i dont think i can take MS 10 next fall, when i am a sophomore. how big of a problem is it?

It can be quite a problem if you’re planning to be a Media Studies major. You cannot declare for the major until you take that course (as well as the other 3 prerequisite courses). Plus, all of the core upper-division courses (MS 101, 102, 104A) require that you have taken MS 10 beforehand if you’re a major. If you didn’t take MS 10 until a junior, you wouldn’t be able to apply until your junior year fall semester. And assuming that you want to graduate in four years, you would have 3 semester to fit in all the required courses for the major plus major electives, etc. Not saying that it’s impossible, but the earlier you take MS 10 the better, so you can even start taking upper-division MS classes in the sophomore year spring semester (that’s kinda what I did by taking MS 10 sophomore year fall semester and the MS 101 sophomore year spring semester).

you could take Media Studies 10 this summer. I checked and it’s offered for summer 10. It lasts from 6/21 to 8/13

Oh yeah, that’d be an option to do as well, but you still would have to wait until the fall semester to apply for the major if you’re able to.
