<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I recently had to take a medical leave my college during my first semester of my freshman year to resolve health issues. I am currently at home receiving treatment, but if possible I would like to go to school next semester closer to home. Will the withdrawal from this semester's courses affect my federal aid for next semester? Because without FAFSA i won't be able to pay for it. I already have applied to schools closer to home, I'm just trying to figure out my options on the financial side of things. </p>

<p>You need to call your financial aid office and ask for a phone appointment to talk directly with an officer there,not a student aid or clerk. You need to find out exactly what the ramifications of your leave are in terms of financial aid and what appeals if any you may need to submit if you are affected for federal aid for the next semester. You may be depending on your individual circumstance.</p>
