Anyone ever been on one? I'm home right now, and worried about how far behind I am going to get. Are teachers usually accomadating when it comes to missed work? I'm a first year senior, and worried the school will regret admitting me because I got sick!

Are they sending work home? I don't know about at high school, but my children's school (up to grade 9) is wonderful about it. How long will you be out?

Not sure about actually leaving the school but when I was a junior I had health issues and had to leave a lot. Everyone was very considerate about it and helped me get through the rough time.

I've had debilitating migraines and had to be monitored at home because they were so bad. I've been out since thursday, and am nervous they might make me withdraw from the school from missing so much. I hope to be back within the next few days, but I'm so scared about that!

You have been out less then a week, trust me your school is not going to make you withdraw. Even if you were out for months the worst they would make you do is repeat, there is no way a school will kick you out for being sick.

I agree with hockeykid841. When you return, you should meet with all your teachers to devise a plan to get caught up with your work. I'm sure they will work with you. I hope you feel better soon.

The schools are very accommodating; my son will be leaving to attend a national soccer tournament for 4 days and his school his working with him; he has a teammate at Andover in the same situation (who also attended last year). His teachers were very helpful.
You won't be penalized for being ill; you might have a lot of work to make up, but they certainly won't disenroll you.
Our school has a "percentage" rule and I think if you miss more than 15 days of a class, you have to retake it.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I guess I was worrying for nothing, there is a plan at my school that you can miss up to 2 weeks, and when you are out for more than a week you are not responsible for missed work. I appreciate your help, and am feeling better. Thanks again
