@VictorLandless Hey there! Stony Brook SfM is my dream program! I really want to get in, so badly!!! I am taking my time to write my medicine essay, and want to be the best thing I’d have written. How was your experience writing your essay, as you mentioned - You’re very proud of it! How did the interview process turn out? Also, just curious, how did you end up receiving a full-ride for undergrad @stony? Do you mind giving me your current experience as the Stony Brook student? Thanks, any help will be appreciated.
Does anybody know the acceptance rate to these 8 year med programs?
Thanks
Especially the stony brook on as I live on long island and this is ideal
Our SFM program gets well over a thousand applicants a year, and takes a class of no more than ten.

Hi Chris…do you happen to know if the Scholars for Dental Medicine is easier to get into and how many students the dental school takes? Thanks.
They get fewer applicants, but they take a class of no more than two.
Here’s the deal with the combined programs: they’re insanely selective. Ultimately, they’re guaranteeing you a spot in medical/dental school at 17; you really need to show them something.
That said, WAY more of our students go on to medical/dental school from outside the combined programs than the twelve (or usually less) that actually get in, so if you don’t get in, believe me, you’ll still get plenty of opportunities to build your med school application here!

Hello Chris, Do you have any idea how many are called for interview for the Medical Scholars Program and how many get selected? Stony is such a prestigious school so just checking to see what the ratio of called to interview to seats are. Thanks
If WISE forwarded my application for the interview, does that mean I was also accepted into the WISE program? I didn’t hear anything back from them yet regarding an admissions decision.
