Medical School in the Future

I don't know if I can talk about politics here or not but I will anyways. I don't really keep up with the economy and all of Obama's talks but I heard that one of the bills that he might pass "might" end up having fewer people interested in Medical School. Is this true? Does it mean that there will be less competition/easy to get into medical school?
It keeps my hopes high because I really want to be a doctor (I am a senior in high school and I am currently taking all of Pre-Med requirements as AP) and I don't care if I make enough money or not. I just want to get into a medical school and study and become a doctor. I love science!

It’s theoretically conceivable that some of the changes in the long run might change what it’s like to be a doctor. The short run effects of health reform include fewer uninsured and lower Medicare reimbursement. The long run effects are harder to predict – the whole thing could conceivably reduce paperwork and restore the doctor-patient relationship. Alternatively, the whole thing might collapse medical care as we know it and force Washington to implement a salaried, single-payer system with very strict rationing.

It’s totally unpredictable at this point. Most of the doctors I know seem to think the changes will be more harmful than helpful.
