hello and thank you in advance.

i was accepted to medical school this coming year at vanderbilt. however, i received a C+ in a course this semester. i'm distraught over this and was wondering how badly they will look on this... does anyone have any experience in this regard?

thanks again

this is not the appropriate portion of college confidential for this inquiry. (this section is only about Cornell University.) you should try reposting your question in one of these forums: [Pre-Med & Medical School - College Confidential](Pre-Med & Medical School - College Confidential Forums)
we do have some people around here with experience applying to med schools, though, so you might accidentally get a good answer anyway.

yeah, i was hoping a cornell student/grad might be able to respond. thank you for the links though.

I don’t think it should matter. You were already accepted. Congratulations!

lol is this the grad school version of those “WILL I BE RESCINDED??!?” threads

You’re fine. Chill out. Enjoy the rest of your year and summer because 1st year of med school will pwn you.

i appreciate the responses.

it was pretty funny to read “chill out” and “1st year will pwn you” in adjacent sentences.

It’s best to develop a somewhat laid back attitude now because med school will be a grind. I realized that during my second week of medical school when we covered 3/4 of BioBM 331 (Biochemistry) in 4 days. A lot of my classmates take themselves too seriously, agonizing over every little question and detail. Work hard but enjoy life to the fullest (especially in the next few months).

yeah fair enough.

my sister is finishing up her 4th year and she tells me about people who cry over 250’s on USMLE step 1’s because they won’t become brain surgeons. probably best not to be that ‘anal’ about things
