Hi. I am currently a high school senior and I am in the process of selecting schools right now. I have been reading some of the posts in the forum and find that the acceptance rates to medical schools for each university's premed program is available to public. Instead of taking everyone's word on which University is good, I like to do some research myself. Which institution releaes information on med school acceptance rates for each university? and is it available online?

Use the search function…there was a forum posted a few days ago on this matter

That statistic is meaningless anyway

The stats are rigged and most schools do no NOT advertise them. There is no law about it nor any oversight on the truthfulness of each statistic (Swarthmore, for example, claimed a 100% acceptance rate for many year. This was only true in the most skewed of senses).

Unreliable criteria for choosing UG that is best for you personally. What if some do not pass thru committee? Do they report them? How many changed their mind? How many could not get good enough MCAT to apply. There are many factors that go to this number. Visit schools, talk to people, get a feel, investigate about pre-med commitee, anyway go to any UG, prepare to work hard at any palce, participate in EC’s and have fun for 4 years of your life. Then see if you are still interested in medicine.
