I will be a Senior at Allegheny College this upcoming year. I am applying to medical schools and feel extremely unprepared. I have taken a practice MCAT and scored a 27, but have been studying and think my real score will be between a 27 and a 30. I have a 3.86 GPA at allegheny, to date. I have been reading the princeton review book to try and figure out medical schools to apply to but the mid range for their MCATs all seem the same and they're so hard to distinguish. I would love it if someone could please tell me a few schools that would be "matches" based on my statistics and as many safety schools as you know for me - I would feel much more comfortable applying if I knew that I would likely get into one or two. I know state residency matters for a lot of schools so I will start out by saying I'm a resident of pennsylvania. I am majoring in neurobiology and I'm 12th in my class at allegheny. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out my chances, for instance, at a school like East Carolina University, I like the south and so this interests me, but since I'm out of state would I even have a chance with my projected MCATs? Please help me with some good safety/match schools assuming my MCATs are indeed in the 27-30 range. Thanks a lot

any help, anyone? It would be very much appreciated

You might want to post this on the pre-med forum.

Temple, Jefferson Medical College. I would suggest Duke though for their curriculm

I think duke would probably be a huge stretch for me to get into, our temple and jefferson hard out of state?

Don't bother with ECU unless you are a NC resident. All of their students are from that state. I think that they are also interested in students committed to working in general practice in the eastern part of North Carolina.
