Does anyone have experience with the new-ish Medical Sciences undergrad major through the UC School of Medicine?
Also- we’d appreciate any perspective about scholarships for NMF kids? It appears that our daughter is lock for SF and a very likely F. The website says 60 students are awarded the full-ride. Our daughter:
GPA: 4.3 W, 3.9 UW
SAT: 1490
Thanks so much!
Would like to know more about the program
I would like to know about this program as well. I guess the first batch is graduating this year and would like to know, how many got into a medical school from this program.
@sevenbabies is your daughter applying this fall? Make sure she applies early, if she is a finalist she will likely receive the Cincinnatus Excellence scholarship which covers tuition, fees, and room. She will also get $1,500 for the purchase of a computer. It is an amazing opportunity.
I looked into this out of high school a few years ago, and it’s a fantastic program. If you maintain a certain GPA or class rank (can’t remember which one, maybe both), you are automatically admitted to the UC med school, which is one of the top med schools in the country for pediatrics. If you work your @$$ off during undergrad, you are guaranteed a spot in medical school. Idk of any other school that does that. Great opportunity.
