Hey guys, I'm sure there was a thread like this one before, but I'll open a new one anyway. Can we put together a list of summer programs for those interested in going to the medical field? Here is what I have so far:

Scripps Research Institute (internship)

Notre Dame PreMed Summer Program

That's pretty much all I found. If anyone could add to the list, that'd be great. :)

There are good non research academic programs for younger students. These include CTY and EPGY.

You can also always try contacting professors and researchers directly.

If you are under 16, it is difficult to do research as many places want you to be 16 (I am assuming for liability stuff/maturity). However, contacting professors directly may still work as that initiative often shows maturity.

There is a thread in this forum discussing how specifically to acquire independent research programs. It shouldn’t be more than a couple pages back (I would provide a link but I cant open multiple tabs at the moment)

Hey guys. I just had a question. Are there any medical programs w/ research that DON’T take up seven to eight weeks of my summer. Haha, sorry for the sass but I really do have an interest in medicine but at the same time don’t want to spend my entire summer doing a program.
Haha, I’m looking for like a 1-3 week program on the East Coast
Anyone?

Research internship are generally longer because you can’t get results in 1-3 weeks. Training alone can take over a week.

I guess I would recommend more of a class if you only have 1-3 weeks. Will still offer you research knowledge but you won’t do your own project or anything. Summer@Brown comes to mind. More of a pay to go program but probably has a class that will interest you and teach you a lot.
