medicine in the US

hey guys!
i'd like to ask, why are foreign students not allowed to do medicine in the US?

Are you in high school or undergrad?

They are allowed but it is difficult since they don’t fund foreign students and it is quite expensive to study medicine in US.

Many also require you to have to gone to an undergrad school in US which is what makes it difficult.

@texaspg - i’m still in high school but it’s coming to an end! oh i see, i’m actually not sure if i want to do medicine but it’s one of my choices. should i check out the colleges in the UK instead?

Definitely check UK out. The difference in US is that you have to do undergrad before any med school, whereas in European countries they put you on that track directly. Only viable way you’d be able to study medicine in America is if you went to an undergrad here first and then applied to med school after around 4 years. UK, I would imagine has a more open system.

@breaker746 - wait so i can’t do undergrad in the US?

No, what breaker is saying is that you can go to medical school directly after high school in UK while you have to spend 4 years in undergrad in US before applying to medical school.
