medicine vs dental

I am rising senior, want to go into either medicine or dental combined BS/MD or BA/DDS 7 or 8 yrs program, do you think I can apply for both? Does college knows where and what you are applying for? I like both but there are not many stright combined program of BA/DMD like BS/MD, any suggestions. Thanks.

Any one have any idea how college evalute there applications? Do they know how many places you have applies it to, any common track they follow? Thanks

Since you're not sure, why choose now? There is a huge difference between being a doctor and a dentist. Did you know that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession? Just take pre med classes at any college you like and decide when you have enough information.

I know many dentists work less and make more than a lot of doctors these days. Lots more full pay work.

That's an urban legend.

Dentists generally do get paid more by the hour, and thus work far less than most doctors. However, almost all dentists work in private practices and need to devote a lot of time to running that business. While most doctors have the option of just focusing on their profession and working in a hospital.

Good answer! As a dentist, I agree that the OP needs to decide what he wants to do before applying to programs. You shouldn't choose a career by which combined program accepts you. Go to undergrad for pre-med/pre-dent and investigate which you prefer before you apply.
