Hello-
I am wondering if anyone here has been in the summer Medill Cherubs program? I am really hoping to get in this summer and would love if you could take a look at my qualifications and offer any tips.
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.64 weighted, Top 3% of my class, currently 21/850 but I think I moved up a few spots
PSAT: sophomore year was a 1310, just took it again last week
SAT: taking Dec 1
CLASSES:
All AP/Honors (Currently in AP Lang, AP Calc, AP Chem, Spanish 5-6H, U.S. History + electives), except for history, took it online all years
EXTRACURRICULARS:
Vice President of National Honor Society (first junior to have this position)
President of Veterans Heritage Project (we publish books for the library of congress)
3 years competitive show choir
School doesn’t offer journalism so I am the high school columnist for two local magazines, multiple online publications, + have my own blog. I also have a highlight reel of my broadcasting experience.
AWARDS/RECOGNITION:
Recipient of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Student Production Award
2x Nominee of the NATAS Student Award
I’m scared that because my school cancelled their journalism program that I no longer have a chance of getting in… any ideas for what to do regarding this?
Any suggestions or tips? Thank you!
