Where can I find the ED and RD acceptance rates for the Medill School of Journalism? I know if a student is denied during the ED round they are not deferred to the RD group.

i looked all over and i could not find this information. i have always been told medill admissions closely mirror admissions to weinberg except replace regular ECs with journalism-related ones.

the most i could find was this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showpost.php?p=3191258&postcount=1

medill average SAT: 1393
arts & sciences: 1403

Be advised: Medill students are not treated the same way.
This is hearsay, but I've been told that Medill really wants students to be heavily involved in journalism-related activities. After all, it is the #1 journalism school in the country. However, I'm not sure this means that you have to be more intelligent or accomplished than Weinberg applicants.
Many Medill kids do have a feeling that they did more than hs than other students, but it just isn't true. I think that Medill applicants are a self-selecting group.
With that said, I would advise against not prepping for the SAT or not doing as well as possible in school.

Thank you for your replies. I should have stated my question more clearly. What Im actually trying to determine is how many ED and RD applications Medill receives and how many students are accepted ED and RD.

yeah i know, i couldn't find that information for you, i looked for awhile. I don't know if it exists on the internet.

the best answer i could give you was that in rough percentages, they probably are close to northwestern's overall averages.

elsijfdl, Thanks for searching....I will probabaly just call and ask.

As far as I know, Medill has never officially released a percentage of accepted students (ED or RD) for the journalism school alone.
