does anyone know if it is easier to get into Medill or weinberg if you apply ED???

Why is everyone asking questions like this?

Can't you just put down arts & sciences or whatever as your second choice if you're worried about getting in?

no, you can't put down more than one school, and yes, medill is in some ways harder to get into b/c there are less spots available and the criteria is different; they look for ppl who have shown interest in writing/journalism. however, medill students don't have higher highschool GPAs or SAT scores than Weinberg students.

If you apply to Weinberg because you think it's easier to get into, when you really are more of a Medill type, you might not get in at all, and vice versa.

It's much more important to think about what you want to study and what suits you, than to try to outsmart the system. NU looks for students well suited for Medill, and those well suited for Weinberg. Think about whether one school or the other is better for you, then go for it.

i applied to weinberg as a psych major transfer, something that must have been really impacted, but bc i had good reasons they took me, so yeah, apply to where you have a more compelling reason to go

keep in mind that if you apply to medill and get accepted, it's much easier to transfer from medill to weinberg then vice versa. it's very tough to transfer from weinberg to medill for current students. you'd probably be better applying to medill, especially if you're into journalism.

when you say tough to transfer from weinberg to medill... how tough? I was thinking about doing it.

very, very tough.
