Mediocre class ranking, high upwards curve JR YR?

Context:
- Mostly B's freshman sophmore year because I focused on sports, but at least 1 A per semester.(I hated being a mediocre player so I practiced 3 hours a day to get better)

-All A's this semester, with 1 B last semester.(My JR yr)

-I have been in all the highest classes throughout my highschool career.

-I won the award for most improved gpa in our class this year

-Our school does not report class rank (actually in top 25%)

-My extracurriculars will be good-average for my top schools(Rice, Cornell, Notre Dame) and my sat is in range (1440 cr+math).

Question: Even though my cumulative gpa is mediocre for top schools (3.7ish weighted, 92.85 on 100 pt scale), Will I be given any leeway as far as my gpa goes, due to my circumstances?

Is this even the right forum for this?

What circumstances? Focusing on sports? I would NOT report that to any college you apply to; it is not a valid reason of why your GPA fell and would make you look foolish.

thats what I figured, but I meant more in light of my very strong upwards trend, in combination with my classes

It does help that you have an upward trend, but far more important is your class rank at top schools, and if your rank is not high enough, then an upward trend will not make up for that.
