mediocre school in competitive region

i got to a mediocre public high school (not magnet/top ranked but not underprivileged or anything)…but I live in Long Island, which is famous for its top public high schools/applicants. It’s unfortunate, because I live in a super competitive region but don’t have access to alot of the resources. Will colleges see my situation? Or will they see me as just another Long Island high school applicant? Thanks

They do take into account that you go to a mediocre school

Just try to finish in top 5%
