<p>UAB is a safety if you can afford about $10,000 per year after applying the Blazer Elite Scholarship that you get with a 28 ACT and 3.0 GPA (assuming that you have at least that).</p>
<p>UAB has about 15,000 students (11,000 of whom are undergraduates).</p>
<p>UAB has mechanical and materials engineering.</p>
<p>But it is not in the north.</p>
