Medium vs. Difficult ?

On every Sat math test I usually get all the hard questions right but I get some medium wrong. If I have enough mathematical ability to do the hard ones, it should mean I can do the medium ones too. Can anyone relate ?

Hard questions aren't necessarily "hard." It only means that a larger percentage of students got that question wrong than other questions. Maybe your training has just been different than others, and you are better at certain concepts.

You might want to check over your answers on medium questions. You might have just made a stupid mistake or fell into one of the ETS' traps.

Hard questions come in two varieties:

Hard content: these problems are straightforward but require specialized math knowledge. For some reason, these trip up a large % of people

Hard reasoning: these really require some fairly insightful thinking. Much less common than the above.
