Meet the Class of 2012

Let's start a group for the class of 2012.

There’s already one~

Thank you so much, I’ll delete mine.

It’s great to see so many already in the group.

I’ve been in the group since there 3 people and have watched it grow tremendously. It is incredibly exciting to see how the class is shaping up (despite the fact that I am not a part of it yet…)

i have been looking and looking for the fb group! im glad i found it… i kept looking for it under austin and it doesn’t come up!

It’s not in the Austin network. It’s global. Most members are still in their high school or local regional networks, and many haven’t been accepted to UT yet. Many of those who have been accepted have yet to join the Texas network either, so the group was made global.

I made a UT email address the day I was accepted, and joined the UT network right after that. I don’t think I’m going to join the Austin network because I’ll still technically be from Dallas.

no i know its not in the austin network but i think a lot of people look for ut AT austin not just university of texas..i was thinking about making a fb group but in the meantime i found this on cc!

interesting thought, how do you know that many haven’t been accepted to UT yet?

Looking at the fb, i noticed women far out-numbered men.. I would imagine that if there are 200+ women already , there must be another 200+ men out there who have been admitted but not join the fb yet. My estimate of men is based on campus population being approx. half men & half women…

Because there are a lot of posts, especially from out of state kids, asking “Has anyone heard back yet?” or “I hope I get in soon.”

And the facebook group is simply titled “Texas.” So I don’t think that searching for UT, University of Texas, or anything including Austin will get results.

@kwyml

Yeah, I agree. Many of the people who are in the UT 2012 group have not been accepted yet. So even though there are alot of students in the group, I’m guessing a good portion of them haven’t gotten in yet. I joined the group before I was accepted…

Thinking about it, though, if about 70% of the students who applied were in the top 10% of their class (from the last year’s data on the website), and since most of them are in-state, then most of the students should know that they are getting in anyway, so there is no need to have to wait for an actual acceptance. Even if they were waiting for an acceptance (which is unnecessary) , they would have probably heard back by now (seeing as how the application was due over a month ago). So actually most students probably do know that they are in already.

Just checked the facebook, there are now 1,138 members!!

I know, isn’t that insane!

totally…

I just joined! :)

Wow…I don’t think I was in the first 3 kids, but I have been in the group since Christmas-break-ish and it’s been great just getting to know everyone so far. Just seeing the group grow is pretty amazing. Now we’re at something like 15% of the class in the group already!

It’s also a little funny because people have guessed who I am by correlating my CC posts with my Wall posts!
