<p>I volunteer at an animal shelter and tutor in a local high school once a week. I don’t really meet anyone new my age though :p.</p>

It was required of every student in this local college program where I live, and it’s awesome! You will find whatever opportunity you are looking for there. It really is an amazing resource :).</p>
<p>University-aged people tend to volunteer/work-study at places around the university. If I volunteer at an afterschool program by my house, there may be an NHS student or two. If I volunteer near a university, I’m the odd man out for not attending the college (but obviously, it varies by location).</p>
