I got admitted to UMD for letrers and science. I am looking to transfer to CS major and I have satisfied the CS 131 with a score 5 in AP exam and 140 also I have scored a 5. So do I need to take an exempt test for CS 131 to satisfy the gateway requirements. Any advise will be greatly appreciated

Also, now that you’ve been accepted, your most accurate information will be from the Comp Sci department at U Md.

The AP scores will get you course credit. You don’t need to take the exemption exam. Any questions: ask cmnsque@cmns.umd.edu

You do have to send Official AP scores to UMD to get credit. Self-Reported scores will not work.
It is best to make sure that UMD receives the scores well before you go to Orientation.
You may even be able to register for CMSC132 if it is offered next Fall
