Meeting with my college alumni

<p>Im an undergraduate student meeting a michigan alumni who graduated from engineering and did consulting work for some time before going to grad school. </p>

<p>I was wondering what kind of questions would be appropriate to ask him and if there is anything else I should be careful about when meeting an alumni like him.</p>

<p>Unless he has multiple personalities, don’t call him an alumni.</p>

<p>He’s an alumnus. His sister is an alumna. He and his brother are alumni. So are he and his sister, because alumni is the term for a mixed group. His two sisters, though, are alumnae.</p>
