CTA | Chicago Transit Authority - Trip Planner

This is good to know for future use-- plug in your dorm address, Union Station, and trip planner will give you ways of going. Be aware, though, that trip planner doesn't consider how savory or unsavory a certain stop may be at a certain time of day (trip planner likes to suggest transfers on the 3 King Drive bus and the 8 Halsted bus, which I wouldn't pick up immediately west of campus). The good thing is, though, that there are always alternatives.

If you get on the 6 bus and get off at Adams, you can either walk to Union Station or take a westbound bus on Adams if you have a lot of luggage. I haven't done Megabus myself, and I guess it depends on where exactly you're going, but my friends who have done the Chicago/Cleveland route don't say the best things about it.

My son took megabus home last T-giving. He took the Wednesday evening bus - took forever getting out of chi-town, and was at least a couple of hours late getting into Cleveland. Make sure you arrange to call your ride and let them know your eta.

Chistmas and spring breaks aren't too bad because you are not trying to leave at the same time as everyone else.
