D is assigned to Melvin Hall at 90 Fenway. Looks like it is for Wellness living (her choice) and also quiet floors. Anyone know anything about the dorm, room size/condition, popularity of Wellness LLC? Thanks all.

I would like to know too.

Melvin is a pretty standard dorm as far as size/condition. Probably a little nicer than the ones you see on tour in the Stetsons, but about the same size. It's also a really nice location, overlooking the Fens. I actually tried to rent an apartment in the building next to Melvin because I think it's a great place to live.

I wouldn't say it's a "popular" choice to live in Wellness, the only people I knew who lived there hadn't chosen it and they moved after first semester because they really had no interest in substance-free housing. I think that was really their only issue though, for people who want quiet and substance-free dorms, it's probably a nice place to live.

yay, Melvin! I lived here last year.
the wellness part is easy to disregard if you want. There are never enough people who request wellness living to take up a whole floor, so it's usually half the floor is wellness and the other half isn't. This doesn't mean much though... my neighbors on both sides were definitely not substance-free. but within a room, northeastern's good about not mixing up wellness requests with non-wellness.

Emily2007 summed it up pretty well. Gorgeous place to live. I'm going to miss it. It's the closest dorm to Fenway, so if you're a Red Sox fan, it's a huge plus. The Fenway is a gorgeous street.

Downside to Melvin: world's slowest elevator. I am not exaggerating. It's faster to take the stairs... by a LONG shot.
