Can anyone tell me more about melvin hall? I know it's a freshman dorm but I've heard conflicting info about whether it's apartment style or not.

It is an old apartment building converted to a dorm. I have seen a couple of pictures of rooms online, but one is a triple and the other is a single. The beds seem to be lofted. I was trying to find a photo of a double. Apparently it has character, nonfunctional fireplaces in the halls and the bathrooms are ‘private’ in that only one person can go in at a time. This is all I’ve been able to figure out! also, it’s carpeted. Not apartment style, definitely. It’s a regular freshman dorm.

Dang. Well how did the single look? Somehow managed to get one at least…
I didnt go to visit my dorm at orientation, parent did, but I guess she clearly visited the wrong one.

All the rooms are different at Melvin. I think the rooms in the front are much larger. My daughter is in a double that’s about the size of the single I had when I went to college. We moved her in yesterday. Good luck!

And there are lots of singles. It’s because the building is an old apartment house, so walls were just put in seemingly random places. You may even be there by now, we just went yesterday. Melvin was locked up during the orientations.
