memorizing for sat 2 math 2c!

hey i was just wondering do we really have to memorize and be expected to use all the double angle trig stuff? i already know the identities but i didnt memorize the sin (a+b) or the radical ones. do we have to??

and also, if we signed up for two but only want to take one, how do i work it out?

Uhm, as far as I know you can save whatever you want into your calculator, so why not save the trig formulas? Not that they are that difficult, but if you want to be sure…

how do you save stuff into your calculator?

If you’re Ti-speak savvy, then go ahead and create a program that works for those equations. If you’re not, just make a new program entitled “Trig” or something and just type out the formulas so that you can view them later (PRGM -> Edit -> Trig on a Ti-83 or Ti-84) as a reference.

how about llike hyperbolas/ellipse foci and eccentricities? i dont even understand it…let alone memorizing it seems useless because i wouldnt know how to use it lol

I didn’t encounter conics when I took Math II nor do I remember any of my practice books including them.

I’ve never needed to know foci/eccentricities on any practice test I’ve taken, but quite often I’ve been asked to locate the center of a certain conic section, which would usually be solved by completing the square. You would also need to be able to determine what conic section results from which equation.

I would advise to just save formulas into your calculator.

If you only wanted to take one of the tests you signed up for, simply take that test and then leave. They will have no record of you taking the exam you don’t want to do, and you will not be scored or penalized. You will just lose the $9 you paid for the test.
