As we head to Houston for the flight back to UA, we want to shop for lightweight boots that won’t skid on icy UA sidewalks. Since we are coastal residents … I have no clue what to look at. Waterproof, skidproof, hiking styled boots, lightweight but with some air so sweating isn’t a factor. Since many of you live in areas of snow, or have student’s who have lived through this before, could you please send suggestions/brands our way?

BTW: I know rain boots are big at UA. When D was home this week I took her to our new Nordstroms & saw that there were wool liners for the Hunter boots. We were talking to the sales lady & I wondered if they’d work in her Sperry’s. That’s when she showed us the ones made for Sperry’s (which we picked up; those are fleece.) We also saw something similar later in T.J. Maxx.

I have this pair in black, and I got the pink pair for son’s GF last Christmas cuz she wanted that color. She said she was one of few that was not slipping in ice.

Ha ha…I know that those who live in very cold climates probably are laughing at this thread. However, no matter where you live, when the temp dips to 40 or below, your feet do get cold (and wet if there’s rain).

There’s a reason why girls run around in Uggs. If I go to the game next Saturday, I’ll be wearing my Uggs, a scarf, and a jacket! LOL
