Men's Club Volleyball Team

How competitive is it to make it? Is a lot of prior experience required? I wreck in my high school gym class but I'm not 'good' by any stretch of the imagination. I saw online that there is an A Team and B Team. Is it difficult to make the B team? Thanks

A lot of people got cut during tryouts. You will be expected to know the rotations and where you need to play for your given position. Also keep in mind that the club team plays with men’s regulation net height, a few inches above co-ed (probably what your gym played), which makes it much harder to get over the ball.

Regardless though, you should try out. You have nothing to lose really.

I played on the B team a few years ago and I didn’t play varsity in high school (we didn’t have a men’s team). Although, I did play recreational regularly with some quite good players.

I’m currently the captain of my HS’s varsity volleyball team. For club do volleyball, is there a lot of commitment needed? How much time do you spend for club volleyball per week?

It’s a commitment (one of the reasons why I didn’t continue playing). It’s roughly 8 hours of practice a week, and then later into the semesters the teams often travel out of state to play in tournaments.
