Men's Cross Country and Track

According to the team website (<a href="http://web.mit.edu/hwtaylor/mtfxc/index.html%5B/url%5D">http://web.mit.edu/hwtaylor/mtfxc/index.html</a>) FAQ:

"What does it take to make the team?
In order to make the cross country or track teams at MIT, the coaching staff needs to see the desire, dedication and ability necessary to contribute to the team's success. Generally, that translates to 20-24 individuals for cross country and 45-50 for track and field. If the athletes do the off season work that is asked of them, they will make the team."

Seriously, MIT is division III. The track teams are pretty good, but since it's a DIII school, they're somewhat restricted in the people they can attract.

If I were you, I'd fill out the recruit info form they have, and maybe email the coach to see what the relevant times are... but many, if not most, MIT sports will let people be on the team as long as they're dedicated and halfway decent.
